Welcome to Community Release Ver 3.00

It is our goal to make the Android Community Release System the bible of Android releases for ROM updates on any Android device.  We have a lot of plans for the future and intend to add more themes, application, modifications and anything else that will enhance the functionality of your device.

If you haven't already signed up for a Community Release account, go to the registration page and reserve your username now.  Developers who already have an established name within the community will take priority over regular user accounts, so please take this into consideration when you apply for your account.

Virtuous Unity is the first custom Sense 3.0 ROM, scaled for WVGA screens, to be based on an official shipping release from HTC (Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1).

The entire ROM is brand new, taking no application or framework components from any prior Sense 3 releases. Unity is officially being released concurrently for two devices: HTC DesireZ/G2 and HTC Desire HD.  Unity is the result of a collaborative, team effort by the following developers: Flemmard, Diamondback, chrisch1974,rmk, mdj, seo, eViL D: and Cypis.

  • Based on the official Sensation shipping ROM (Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1).

  • Resized for WVGA (800x480) displays, using a purpose built tool to modify HTC.s proprietary m10 binaries, developed by Flemmard and Diamondback.
  • Heavily optimized for fluid performance and usability.
  • Overclocked kernels with numerous additional kernel modules.  DHD kernel courtesy of m-deejay, Vision kernel by rmk.
  • Built-in screen state frequency scaling (1.2Ghz-245MHz/ondemand screen-on, 806Mhz-245Mz/conservative screen-off), via custom built virtuous_oc C daemon.
  • Trackpad wake support (DesireZ/G2 and myTouch 4G only).
  • WiFi calling (G2 T-Mobile USA and myTouch 4G only).
  • Fully functional device hardware, including wifi, bluetooth, camera, camcorder, etc.
  • Market-sourced applications (Gmail, Maps, Voice, etc) automatically installed on first boot into /data/app for easy removal.
  • Bloatware and unnecessary applications removed.
  

Technical Notes

  • Virtuous. overclocking daemon will automatically be disabled if an overclocking tools (such as SetCPU or CPU Tuner) is installed.  Installing these tools is not advised, as the virtuous_oc daemon responds far more rapidly to screen state changes than any Android (Java) application.
  • Clockwork Recovery v3.x.x is required.
  • All filesystems are mounted using ext4 with writeback journaling. Be sure to shut down your phone properly as opposed to pulling the battery when possible.
